Born to compete and developed on the racetrack, the Ducati Desmo450 MX is Ducati’s first motocross bike featuring desmodromic valve timing — bringing true Borgo Panigale racing DNA into the off-road world. Lightweight, powerful and purpose-built, the Desmo450 MX combines advanced electronics, premium components and cutting-edge engineering to deliver maximum performance, control and adrenaline.

Developed through Ducati’s racing philosophy, the Desmo450 MX was created using knowledge gained from MotoGP and WorldSBK competition, combined with extensive testing and development alongside professional riders. The result is a race-ready production motocross bike designed to deliver exceptional performance and reliability for both amateur and experienced riders alike.

At the heart of the Desmo450 MX is a compact, high-performance engine paired with an aluminium perimeter frame engineered for maximum rigidity, lightweight construction and precise handling. To optimise airflow and engine performance, Ducati designed the frame with the fewest possible weld joints, resulting in a chassis made up of only 11 elements — approximately half the number used in many competing motocross frames.

The electronics package showcases Ducati’s expertise in rider assistance systems, featuring advanced Ducati Traction Control capable of estimating real rear wheel slip by combining camshaft rotation speed with inertial vehicle dynamics data. This provides highly responsive, smooth and effective intervention. Riders can also customise throttle response, traction control, engine brake control and launch control through dedicated Riding Modes and the Ducati X-Link app.

Designed according to Ducati styling principles, the Desmo450 MX is extremely compact and engineered to maximise rider movement and control. Every detail has been carefully considered, from the textured side covers for improved grip to bodywork designed for easier trackside maintenance.

Suspension duties are handled by premium Showa components, including a 49 mm USD fork with 310 mm of travel and a rear shock mounted to the cast swingarm, delivering outstanding control and durability under aggressive riding conditions. Braking performance comes from Brembo callipers and master cylinders paired with Galfer discs, providing powerful and consistent stopping performance on any terrain.

Additional available technology includes a WiFi connectivity unit allowing riders to connect via the Ducati X-Link app to customise settings, monitor vehicle status and track service history.
